I've often heard at church, both from the platform and conversations with other Christians, the idea that true Christianity is a relationship, not a religion. But in talking to non-Christian friends I've found that every time I try to explain the idea and show them that it's about faith and a relationship with God, not about works, they don't get it. Some even see it as a cop-out. Is the concept one that is helpful to use when talking to non-Christian friends, and if so, how can I go about it in a way that actually makes sense to them and gets across the message of "relationship, not religion"? Unsaved family members My Family is Non-christian. The Bible therefore says that they are going to hell (providing that they don't accept Jesus while here on earth). Heaven is supposed to be a place of joy, but I could think of no greater suffering than knowing that my family is suffering eternally in hell while I am in heaven. Heaven without my Family would be terrible. How can I enjoy Heaven with the knowledge of my family's suffering? Ian Miller, LVAC My Family is Non-christian.
