Introducing CCH Why Do We Exist Core Values Core Beliefs

Why Do We Exist

Our Passion: But Nineveh has more than 120,000 people living in spiritual darkness, and many cattle are also there. Don't you think I should be concerned about that great city?
Jonah 4:11

Our Cause: Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
Matthew 28:19-20

Our Heart: Jesus replied, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ All the law and prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Matthew 22:37-40

Our Catchcry:

Our Vision: Community Church Hornsby’s vision is to celebrate the life of Christ within the context of a thriving church base in Sydney’s north that sends out its people to influence our city, nation and world for Jesus.

Our Mission: Quite simply, Community Church Hornsby’s mission is to embrace people as well as to inspire, motivate, and equip them to live for Jesus.

Our Strategy: Since its inception, Community Church has been a church committed to outworking Jesus’ purposes for our church. We intentionally pursue this by our commitment to five inspiring words – influencing, belonging, growing, celebrating, serving – actions that graphically depict Jesus’ purposes for us.

Growing and Serving: As people become part of the CCH Family, the family culture will embrace them. They will discover the role of discipleship in bringing them to personal Christian maturity and that they have their own unique God-given call in ministry within our church or its expanded vision in church planting or world missions.

Celebrating: We actively invite our friends and contacts and the General Community to our Public Services. Jesus wants his house full! So we never close our doors to new people, but rather creatively seek out ways to encourage more and more people to join us.

Belonging: Once they see themselves as part of our Sunday Crowd, we encourage people to develop their relationship with other CCHers through our Small Group Ministry. We are convinced that our Church must grow larger and smaller at the same time.

Influencing: The journey is self-replicating. As people discover purpose and identity within the family of God’s people, they reach out into the wider community that we seek to influence and the cycle is repeated.
